The CARES units includes seven centers located in I-8, I-10, F-10, G-10, E-7, F-6 and G-6, each
being the centre of a service zone which is easily covered by that centre for management of all
Accidents, Emergencies and Medical & Surgical Problems arising out of Disasters and
transportation to hospitals. Each centre is equipped with one Rescue Ambulances, each
ambulance having a staff of two including a driver, emergency medical technician and driver.
Coverage and Services: The head office of the ambulance service is at Capital Hospital, where call centre operators receive emergency calls from Islamabad on a universal access number 1122 and direct the nearest ambulance to reach the site within 7 minutes, provide necessary first aid assistance and shift patient to the nearest Government Hospital.

It dispatches its nearest Medics Unit to reach the site of call within 7 minutes and transport the patient to nearest hospital, providing necessary emergency treatment, at same time.
