Islamabad is a Capital City of Pakistan and is administrated by Pakistani federal government as part of the Islamabad Capital Territory. It is the ninth large city in Pakistan, while the larger Islamabad Rawalpindi metropolitan area is the country’s third largest with a population of about 4.1 million people. Built as a planned city in 1960’s to replace Karachi as Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad is noted for its high standards of living, safety and abundant greenery.
Islamabad is administrated by the Pakistani Federal Government as part of the Islamabad Capital Territory. Built as a planned city in the 1960’s to replace Karachi as Pakistan’s Capital. The master plan for the city was designed by Greek Architect and divides the city into eight zones, including administrative, diplomatic enclave, residential areas, educational and industrial sectors, commercial areas, as well as rural and green areas which are administrated by the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation with support from the Capital Development Authority. Islamabad is known for the presence of several parks and forests, including the Margalla hills national park and Shakarparian. It is home to several landmarks, with the most noteable one being the Faisal Masjid, the Larger Masjid in south Asia and the fifth largest in the world.
The city is home to twenty universities, including Quaid-e-Azam, Comsats and NUST. The city is rated as one of the safest in Pakistan and has an expensive enabled surveillance system with almost 2000 active CCTV cameras. Islamabad has attracted people from all over Pakistan, making it one the most cosmopolitan and urbanized cities of Pakistan. As the capital city it has hosted a number of important meetings. The southern portion of the city is an undulating plain. It is drained by the Kurang River, on which the Rawal Dam is located.
Islamabad has state of the art facilities for sport and leisure activities to ensure healthy minds and bodies for the citizens of the capital. Open space system of Islamabad is closely related to the topography of the site and natural contours of the area. Islamabad today provides a healthy, wholesome and attractive environment, congenial to hard work and comfortable living, serving as a guide to national taste and temperament and is an emblem of the people cultural values, character and aspirations. Residential sectors have been placed in rows on the both sides of main business and commercial center running through the heart of the town called the Blue Area.

Pakistan Defense day (6th sep, 2021)
Martial Art Club, Cyclists, runners, Retd Army Officers, Bureaucrats including Mian Tariq Lateef (DG HR Admin & Revenue), Aamir Shehzad (Director Sports, Culture and Tourism MCI/CDA) a large no of students from different schools and citizens participated in this event. Activities of this event were painting/ sketching, Singing Competition, speech Competition, Cycling Competition, Running Competition Martial Art and Kida Arena.
World Tourism day (26th to 28th September, 2021)
Double Decker Bus Association, large no of students, orphan children and families participated in event. Activities of this event were Double Decker visit to explore Islamabad Tourist Places ( Faisal Masjid, Rawal Lake park, Diplomatic Enclave, Pakistan Monument and other places), hiking, Seminar, Painting/ Sketching and Speech Competition.
Kashmir Black Day (27th Oct, 2021)
Students from different universities, Theater Drama Club, drama actor Suraj Khan and families participated in this event. Activities of this event were Theater Drama according to injustice with Kashmiri’s and Candle Vigil tribute to Kashmiri Martyrs.
Shair-e-Mashriq Iqbal day (9th November, 2021)
Students from different schools, teachers, principals and Bureaucrats including Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat, Chief officer MCI Capt ® Syed Ali Asghar, Director Sports Culture and Tourism Aamir Shehzad participated in this event. Activities of this event were Painting/ Sketching Competition, Speech Competition, Singing Competition and Kids Arena.
Semi Final 1, 2 & Final cricket World Cup (10, 11 & 13th November, 2021)

Students of Different Schools, Colleges and Universities participate in this championship. Aim of this championship was give opportunity to students of Schools, Colleges and Universities to show their talent settling to play grounds.
World Children Day (24th November, 2021)
Children from different schools and individually participated in this event. Activities of this program were magic show, Tableau, face painting, speeches, singing and kids arena. Aamir Shehzad (Director Sports Culture and Tourism MCI/CDA) also join us in World Children Day.
MCI Leather Ball Cricket Tournament (24th to 27th November, 2021)
In this tournament matches were conduct DC Chakwal XI Vs DC ICT XI Vs Media XI in Banigala Cricket Ground. Bureaucrats including Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners of different cities.
Margalla Sustainable Tourism Fest (26th to 27th November, 2021)
Racing Club, Cycling association, Students from different cities, schools and foreigners participate in this fest, Islamabad Police and Rescue 1122 also associate us. Activities of this program were running and hiking competition at Margalla hills. Running was from Zoo to Daman-e-Koh and hiking was at Trail-3. We visit Margalla hills, Trail-3, Daman-e-Koh, Lake View Park and Faisal Masjid. This event was organized to explore tourist places of Islamabad.
Tour of Islamabad (3rd to 5th December, 2021)
Bureaucrats including Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, ASSISTANT Commissioner Murre & SHO, Cycling association, Cyclists from all over the country, different ambassadors of different countries, foreigners & cyclists of different countries and Sunday cycling participated in this tour. Murree Motorway Police, Islamabad Police and rescue 1122 also participate in this event and help us. 1st day cycling was from Zoo to Monal, 2nd day was from Pakistan Monument to Murree and 3rd day was from Beverly Center to D-Chowk to 9th Avenue to Beverly Center. Aim of this program was to visit Islamabad visiting places.
MCI Football Tournament (4th to 8th December, 2021)
Different Football Clubs of twin cities participate in this tournament. Matches were conduct in G7/4 Football Ground.
World Mountain Day (Tribute to Muhammad Ali Sadpara) 10th to 12th December, 2021)
Ambassadors opf different countries, Foreign runners, running association, cycling association, runners from all over the country, foreigners and climber heroes participate in this event. Islamabad Police, CTD Force and Rescue 1122 join us. Activities of this event were hiking and 46 hours racing. Hiking was at Trail-5 to explore mountains and racing was in F-9 Park Islamabad. First day was hiking at trail 5 and different climbers including Abid Sadpara and Siddique Sadpara participate in hiking for tribute to Muhammad Ali Sadpara.
Christmas Cake Cutting ceremony (15th December, 2021)
Ministers including raja Khurram Nawaz (Chairman Qaima Committee for interior) & Ali Nawaz Awan (Special Assistant to Prime Minister for CDA affairs), Bureaucrats including Capt ® Syed Ali Asghar (Chief Metrop[olitan Officer, MCI) & Aamier Shehzad (Director Sports Culture & Tourism MCI/CDA) and Christians families from twin cities participate in cake cutting.
Tribute to APS Martyrs (16th December, 2021)
Social Organizations, civil society, NGO’s, large no of students from NUML university and students of madrasa participate in this prayer. Activities of this program were Quran Khawani, Prayers and Candlelight Vigil tribute to APS Martyrs.

MCI Table Tennis Tournament (17th to 19th December, 2021)
This Tournament was conduct between university students and they play their best. More than 15 universities participate in this tournament.

Tribute to Milat ka Pasban Quaid—i-azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Activities of this event were Painting/Sketching, National Songs, Speech Competition and quiz Competition.
Women Volleyball Championship (23rd to 25th December, 2021)
Bureaucrats, Ambassadors, students of different Universities of Islamabad participate in this championship. According to the vision of honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan promote women sports and conduct matches between female students of different universities.
MCI New Year Resolution 10K Run! 2022 (1st January, 2022)
Round about 200 people participate in this resolution from different cities of Pakistan including Deputy Commissioner Chakwal Bilal Hasham, UAE ambassadors, political & social personalities and official runners, Islamabad Police and Rescue 1122 also help us in this resolution.
Sindhi Cultural Celebration Fest (3rd to 5th January, 2022)
Bureaucrats, families of twin cities, Singers from sindh Laraib, Local singer sanwal, NGO’s and civil society participate in Sindhi Cultural celebration. People from different cities of Sindh participate and have their stalls in festival.
ISLAMIC CALLIGRAPHY EXHIBITION
In Islamic Calligraphy Exhibition were different stalls of Islamic Calligraphy. Stall-holders and artist were from different areas of all-across the Pakistan participate in exhibition. Energetic public of Islamabad appreciate this vision of unique exhibition. They get knowledge about Islamic calligraphy and buy calligraphy from stalls.
KPK CULTURAL CELEBRATION
KPK Cultural Celebration was an amazing festival. Singers, artisan, dancers and artist from Peshawar and different areas of KPK participate in this festival and perform. Pakhtoon community of Islamabad with other communities celebrate their culture, heritage and pay tribute to their heroes through this festival. Stalls of KPK culture were also installed, people learn about pakhtoon culture through presented different things of culture at stalls.
PUNJABI CULTURAL CELEBRATION
Punjabi Culture has its own importance and uniqueness. Punjabi cultural celebration was a good opportunity for public of Islamabad to learn about Punjabi culture. Different singers, dancers, artisan and artists participate from all-over the Punjab. Who perform and present their culture which is famous all-across the world. Different stalls were also installed through which Punjabi culture was presented. Energetic people of Islamabad get knowledge about Punjabi culture, enjoy Punjabi food and buy different things of Punjabi culture from stalls.
BALOCHISTAN CULTURAL CELEBRATION
Baloch Culture celebration was a very enjoyable festival. In this festival different bureaucrats, senators, ambassadors and people from balochistan participated including Senator Sana Jan Jamali from Balochistan Awami Party. She appreciated this vision and thanks to CDA/MCI to have equal Baloch culture with other cultures.
SPECIAL PERSON CRICKET TOURNAMENT
In this cricket tournament special person from all-across the Pakistan participated and present their skills. It was a good opportunity for especial persons to present their capabilities and skills. Different bureaucrats, ambassadors, politicians and senators also participate in this tournament.
AJK CULTURAL CELEBRATION
Azad Jamu Kashmir is an important part of Pakistan and its culture also have its own importance. It also called heaven of this world. In AJK cultural celebration singers, performer, players and artist participate from different areas of AJK.
TRIBUTE TO KASHMIRI MARTYRS
We tribute to Kashmiri martyrs through Human Kids Kashmiri flag and cricket match between two Kashmiri teams. Bureaucrats including Deputy commissioner Islamabad Muhammad hamza Shafqaat, DG Audit & Accounts CDA Muhammad Qasim Chatha, Deputy DG Admin/HR MCI Laiq Zaman Khan, Focal Person MCI Dr M Abdullah Tabassum and Director Sports Culture & Tourism Aamir Shehzad, players from different areas of Kashmir and students of different schools of Islamabad participated. First time in the history of Islamabad biggest human flag was format tribute to Kashmiri martyrs. Different activities between students were also conducted regarding Kashmir including Painting competition, Speech Competition, National Song competition etc.
GILGIT BALTISTAN CULTURAL CELEBRATION
Gilgit Baltistan has its own importance with its beauty and dry fruits. And people of Gilgit Baltistan has their different and unique culture. Different singers, artists, artisan, dancers and stall holders from different areas of Gilgit participate in this celebration fest. Enthusiastic public of Islamabad enjoyGilgit Baltistan culture,get to know about Gilgit Baltistan culture, buy different things of Gilgit Baltistan culture from stalls and enjoy Gilgit Baltistan’s foods.
POTHOHAR CULTURAL FEST
Different folk singers, dancers, artists, artisan and stall holders participated in Pothohar Cultural Celebration with Gandhara Art. People of Islamabad enjoy their local culture and appreciate this vision.
RUNNING COMPETITION
This running competition was conduct at D-Chowk Islamabad which has 10Km distance. Different bureaucrats including DC Chakwal Bilal Hasham, DG Audit & Accounts CDA Muhammad Qasim Chatha, Focal Person MCI Dr M Abdullah Tabassum and director Sports Culture & Tourism Aamir Shehzad, ambassadors, official runners men/women all-over Pakistan , General public and Children participated in this running race. Participants appreciate this vision and call for same activities next time.
TOUR OF ISLAMABAD
This tour was at different places of Islamabad to explore tourist spots of Islamabad including Faisal Mosque, Lake view Park, Budda qais, Pakistan monument, Parliament, Prime Minister house, and Supreme court etc. General public of twin cities, students from different schools, colleges & universities participate in this tour, enjoy and appreciate this vision to explore tourist spots of Islamabad through double-decker bus.
TRADITIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL
This festival has its own beauty and importance. Because through festival we need re-highlight traditional sports to our new generation. Students from different schools and colleges participated in this festival. They play these traditional games, enjoy and appreciate this festival. They said that we are playing these games first time but enjoying a lot.
MOTHER LANGUAGE FESTIVAL
Being Pakistani we have different mother languages because here people spoke different languages in different areas so first time in Islamabad Mother Language Festival is celebrated. In this festival singers, artists, dancers, artisan, stall holders and people from different areas & languages of Pakistan participated. Enjoy this festival, meet to each other people of different languages and learn about each other culture & language.
CDA MODEL SCHOOL FESTIVAL
It was a fun Gala for students of CDA Model School. Students participate with full excitement. There were different food stalls installed for students, they buy different foods and enjoy themselves. Deputy DG Admin/HR MCI Laiq Zaman Khan, Focal Person MCI Dr M Abdullah Tabassum and Principal CDA model school also participate in this festival.
NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL CULTURE CELEBRATION
In this cultural celebration local public of all-across the Pakistan, bureaucrats and ambassadors of different countries participated. They meet to each other share their culture, heritage and tourism to each other. And learn about each other’s culture.
MCI Naat Khawani Competition In this competition students from different schools, colleges and universities participated and perform their Naat. Laiq Zaman Khan (DG HR/Admin MCI) join in this competition and distribute prizes among winners.
MCI Night Martial Arts championship
In this Championship different Martial Arts clubs of twin cities participated and show their talent. Focal Person MCI Dr M Abdullah Tabassum participated in championship and distributes prizes in winners.
MCI Floodlight Boxing Championship
Islamabad Boxing Association and different boxers from boxing clubs of twin cities participated in this championship. World Champion boxer Muhammad Waseem also participated and appreciate the vision of Directorate of Sports Culture & Tourism MCI/CDA.
MCI Qirat Competition
In MCI Qirat Competition students of different schools, Colleges and Universities participated and perform their Qirat. Winners got prizes from Focal Person MCI Dr M Abdullah Tabassum.
MCI Cycling Night Competition
Different foreigner cyclists and cyclists from different areas of Pakistan participated in this competition. Aim of this competition was to give message of healthy Pakistan to whole world.
MCI Floodlight Badminton Tournament
In this tournament round about 200 players from twin cities participated in different categories of tournament. And appreciate the vision of Directorate of Sports Culture & Tourism and said to do more such healthy events.
MCI Calligraphy Exhibition
In this exhibition calligraphy stall holders from different areas of Pakistan, students of different schools, colleges and universities of twin cities participated. There was also conduct Calligraphy competition between different students and they show their calligraphy talent through this exhibition.
World Book Reading Day
At this Day students from different schools, colleges and universities participated, they made paintings regarding book reading and highlight importance of book reading through their paintings.

MCI Cycling Competition 2022
Cyclists from different cities of Pakistan and foreigners participated in this competition. This competition was from Taxila Museaum to Zero Point Islamabad through GT road and Sirinagar Highway. Focal person MCI Dr M Abdullah Tabassum also participated and distribute prizes to winners.
Mountain Running and Hiking Competition
Mountain runners, students from different schools, colleges and universities and citizens of twin cities participated in different categories of mountain running and hiking competition. All participants appreciated this vision of directorate of sports, Culture & Tourism and enjoy these competitions.
